President Zhang Zongyi came to the school of energy and power engineering to investigate the discipline construction

At 10:00 on June 6, 2018, President Zhang Zongyi came to the School of Power Engineering to investigate the discipline construction. The survey was conducted in the 315 meeting room of the Power Building in the form of a symposium, presided over by Professor Pan Liangming, secretary of the Party Committee of the school. The leaders of the school departments that participated in the meeting included Cai Zhenhong, director of the development planning office, Ran Maosheng, director of the planning and finance office, Xu Jun, director of the international cooperation and exchange office,  Xiao Junfu from the principal’s office, and department heads, subject leaders, national-level talents, outstanding young teachers representatives, etc.

At the meeting, secretary Pan Liangming first introduced the leaders and teachers. Afterwards, dean Liao Qiang reported on the overall situation of the school's discipline construction, focusing on the fourth round of discipline evaluation, analyzing the major gaps in the college's discipline construction in terms of talent, teaching, scientific research, internationalization and other core key indicators, and focusing on the principal concepts and ideasin the new semester cadre conference. The school plans to promote the overall ideas and main measures of the discipline construction in the next step. In the exchange speech session, the participating teacher representatives actively exchanged speeches around the discipline construction of the college and the school's "double first-class" construction. President Zhang and leaders of various ministries and departments responded and explained related issues. Finally, President Zhang made a summary, affirmed the college's achievements in the past few years, and gave instructions on the direction and strategic issues of the college's next discipline construction. President Zhang pointed out that the current urgent task of the School of Energy and Power Engineering is to plan the overall situation, introduce high-end talents and high-end research platforms, make the highlights of the discipline as soon as possible, conform to the needs of economic and social development, and combine local economic development and the major needs of the country.
